Q: Can this electric strike be used with a vertical rod device on a fire-rated door?
A: According to Von Duprin the 6111 is "Not for use in fire rated openings". The 6111 electric strike can be used only on non rated openings less bottom rod with pullman top latch (use ES prefix when ordering device). Device back set will change to match the centerline of the pocket of the electric strike.
You certainly ought to be able to use the Folger Adam 310-4 Pullman Keeper Electric Strike as seen here:

As this strike is a 3 hour fire-rated, industrial electric strike designed for extreme heavy duty applications so long as the devices ordered with a Pullman latch on the top.
I would also note that the device must be ordered as fail secure meaning that in the event of a power outage the strike will always be locked and therefore only unlocked when the strike is energized .

Q: Do we offer a weatherproof electric strike?
A: No, due to the gate and backbox not being able to be sealed to keep water out of the electric strike a weather proof version is not available.
Q: Can the 6111 electric strike be used with Falcon 25R?
A: The Falcon 25R rim device can be used with 6111 electric strike on single or double doors - just be careful to observe the Falcon template for the proper "B" dimension would be 3-1/4"
Also the Von Duprin 4854/9854 mullion is required when using 25R with 6111 electric strike on double door application.
Only one 6111 electric strike can be installed on one side of the 4854/9854 mullion.
Q: Is the Von Duprin 6111 electric strike compatible with Von Duprin XP98/99 rim exit device?
A: The Von Duprin 6111 Electric Strike
and the Von Duprin XP98/99 rim exit device are compatible however keep in mind the electric strike does not have the same holding force as the XP98/99 rim exit device. The electric strike has 1500 pounds of holding force whereas the XP98/99 rim device has approximately 2300 pounds of holding force.
Q: Can the electric strike be used with a vertical rod device on a fire-rated door?
A: The 6111 electric strike can be used only on non rated openings less bottom rod with pullman top latch (use ES prefix when ordering device). Device back set will change to match the centerline of the pocket of the electric strike.
Not for use in fire rated openings.
Q: Are the Von Duprin 6000 series electric strikes rated for continuous duty?
A: All of Von Duprin 6000 series electric strikes have continuous duty solenoids either 12 or 24VDC.
Q: Are the 6000 series strikes field selectable for 12 or 24 VDC?
A: All 6000 series electric strike would require the solenoid be replaced to convert from one voltage to the other.
Q: How to determine the voltage used by a 6000 series electric strike?
A: For all models of 6000 series electric strike, except the 6300 & 6400, the color of the solenoid wires determine the voltage.
Black wires are used on 24VDC solenoids and yellow wires are used on 12VDC solenoids.
All voltages are +/- 10%.
Q: What questions should be asked to determine which Von Duprin 6000 series electric strike I have?
A: Follow these questions to determine which Von Duprin electric strike model you have:
1. What type of hardware is latching to the electric strike?
2. Single or pair of doors?
3. Door and frame material? Wood, aluminum or hollow metal?
3. Rated or non-rated door opening?
4. Is the strike fail safe or fail secure?
5. What voltage are you using? 12VDC or 24VDC?
6. Length and width of the faceplate?
7. What is the height and width of the cutout required on the face of the frame or door?
8. Do you have dual switches?
9. Finish?

Q: What power supply is required to operate the 6000 series electric strike?
A: Option boards are not required with PS900 series power supplies when using electric strikes. See the list of options below.
The PS902 would power up to 5 electric strikes at 24VDC or 2 at 12VDC.
The PS904 would power up to 11 electric strikes at 24VDC or 5 at 12VDC.
The PS906 would power up to 17 electric strikes at 24VDC or 8 at 12VDC.
The PS914 would power up to 11 electric strikes at 24VDC or 5 at 12VDC.
The 900-8F option board may be used to provide eight independently fused outputs which protects the electric strikes from each other in case one of the strikes gets grounded or shorted the others will still operate.
