A: Hello Curt - I will send you out a goodwill no charge replacement hold open arm and have reviewed your image and your notes. Given the amount of bend in that steel that's likely 3/8 of an inch thick, I am of the opinion that it did not just simply snap off. Reading the notes where it stated that the bolt snapped so easily in the wind - I have to tell you this arm would not be eligible for a replacement warranty because hold open arms are not dead stops. If you need a dead stop arm with a hold open we need to get you a different arm to be purchasing. If the wind grabbed this door it would most certainly so severely wrench the hold open nut so tightly closed that the amount of force you would be required to exert on the door to get the hold open to release would very likely bend and then destroy breaking the threaded portion of the forearm. I would expect to see the damage to the arm as indicated in this scenario I'm also of the opinion that the closer body itself is not damaged as a result of wrenching the hold open off of the frozen open position. This is the second time that we've replaced for you in the last couple of years at no charge and we're happy to do so - it's how you treat good reliable loyal clients .
