Adams Rite 4606

A: The Adams Rite 4606 Transformer will convert from 120VAC to 24VDC. The HESS 9400 is a DC strike. The Adams Rite 4606 will work as long as you add the Adams Rite 4603 rectifier which converts low voltage AC current to DC of same voltage as seen here:
