Product Description:
Universal Controller
  • Provides access control solutions for doors secured with electrified locking devices such as electric strikes and electromagnetic locks.
  • Stand alone, hardwired access controllers.
  • Operates on 12/24 VAC/VDC.
  • Can maintain up to 500 cardholders, and store the last 500 audit events at each opening.
  • Credentials can be programmed to perform a variety of functions:
    • Momentary access
    • Maintained or “toggled” access
    • Pass thru or “VIP” access
    • One-time use for visitors, or contract maintenance workers
  • HID proximity, magnetic stripe cards, iButtons and PIN codes with linked access (prox + PIN, mag + PIN, iButton + PIN) can be supported by the controller, offering your facility a variety of credential options depending on your security needs or supporting an existing system.
  • No network wiring is required. Installation is quick and easy.
  • Managed by LockLink® and LockLink® Express software, so the same software that programs the controller can also manage your door and perimeter access trim locking systems. This allows you to manage multiple opening types in your facility under one system.

Questions and Answers
Q: Do you have an installation guide for the CT150 and the CT770?
A: The guide is here:

Download File

The CT770 - It’s the same thing as a CT150 but with no i-button capabilities and manually programmed through the keypad only.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with.

Q: Does the CT500 have a provision for a battery backup?
A: No, the CT500 uses non-volatile memory for storage. The battery backup would be provided as part of the power supply to continue powering the unit in the event of loss of AC power to provide DC output. If you are referring to the watch-like battery area on the circuit board - that is the area that contains the circular metal object to the left of the optional input terminals which is for the ATR chip. If the ATR or audit trail is required, the ATR chip (audit trail reporting) must be installed in the lock controller.

Q: I just talked with you on the phone and we are trying to delete old codes out of our CT500. You told me to email and you can get me information. Thank you very much for your help.
A: I understand you want to delete the "old" code. Can you tell me what the "old code" was?
Q: We are trying t delete an old code. *5*old code** This is not working. Can you tell me if we can do something different? Thank you
A: Is your old code either of the 5 - digit Factory Default codes as seen on page 10 here of the Programming Manual for the Locknetics CT500:

Download File

Q: No, it is a 4 digit code that was put in by someone.
A: Have you performed the :

TO DELETE CODES:
Master Code *...5 *...Old Code *...* (to end)

Procedure as seen on page 15 of the Locknetics CT500 Programming Manual as seen here:

Download File

Q: yes, "TO DELETE CODES" several times and it still will not delete the old code
A: Which keypad are you using? Please confirm you have successfully added new codes.
Q: We can use our new code. But the old one works too. Not sure what you mean by which keypad. We only have one. Is that what you meant? Thanks, Annette
A: Please also email me a photograph of the keypad that you are using to perform the programming on.
Q: The photo is here for your review:

A: It was a very interesting scenario that you had painted for us regarding not being able to delete the original code.

The first thing that we did was submit to you the programming manual and you were able to confirm that you were accurately and multiple times executing the delete code sequence as outlined in the programming manual.

The second thing we did was to confirm that you had a compliant keypad with the controller and my thought was potentially that there was a problem with the keypad. In short I suspected the possibility that the existing keypad was defective or only partially operative.

When you submitted the photograph which is above - It was unexpected to see your photograph of a keypad that is outside of the system from this manufacturer. I was able to develop a theory that the keypad you had was incompatible with communicating to the controller. I confirmed with the manufacturer that that is indeed the case. The short answer is that the controller and the keypads are a closed and proprietary system. Having said that it is completely expected that you are unable to delete the original code.

The only suggestion for you that I have at this time is to sell you a replacement keypad that I know will be compatible with this controller.

How would you like to proceed?

Q: How do I clear the memory on a CT500?
A: To clear the memory on a CT500 controller, deleting all programming and codes from the controller and resetting to factory defaults, perform the following procedure:

1. Ensure dipswitches are set properly according to the chart below. Settings will vary depending upon the installation:

Download File

2. Press the SW2 pushbutton on the controller board 3 times. (Verification of procedure will result in the relays clicking back and forth a few times).

Memory will now be cleared and default codes and settings will be restored.

(Required, used to email you once question is answered.)
