Q: Hi, I will be installing this electric strike at the gate to my building. Currently I have run 18AWG wire to the gate. What would be the Power Supply I should use to power this striker.

A: First of all it is quite likely that 18 gauge wire will be absolutely sufficient to power anything that you would place there but in order to understand the answer specifically we have to know the model number of the electric strike so that we can determine how many milliamps of draw it will request and we also have to know the distance between the power supply and the electric strike, which is also called the load, so that we can accurately determine the diameter of wire necessary. Please review and advise.

Q: Hello, It would be 2 strikes HES 5000 loop together with less than 200 feet of wire. Just wondering what power supply should I buy for that application.
