Q: Im replacing an existing Dor-O-Matic 1690 to add electrified latch release. Do I need new rods? Old 1690 was installed in 2009.

A: The way to add access control to this opening is to replace the exit device outright with the ELr electric latch retraction model EL1690 as seen here:
