The above method is the only way to achieve this as the the Schlage B60 is a residential grade 1 deadbolt and is not available with Everest or Primus conventional cylinders.

The thumbturn is installed upside down and the deadbolt will not function as originally designed and also, as a result of the weight of the thumbturn, prevent the deadbolt from fully securing in the projected position when thrown.
I would remove the thumbturn via the two screws as seen, rotate the thumbtun so that the longer half is pointed toward the top of the door and reattach.
