A: I cannot say if your local hardware store can or cannot / will or will not duplicate this key for you - only because I simply do not know. We will however assist you in duplicating the key if you like.

Q: Hi, I was wondering if you could provide me a quote if you helped me cut a Schlage 35-157 key?
A: We do provide key cutting services on the Schlage Primus line of key blanks.
Be very careful though when dipping your toe into the water of restricted key blanks because there are several variations in different possibilities and generations and evolutions of the Primus line from when it was first introduced in the late 1980s.
For instance - different key ways will have different side bit millings. There will be very different side bit millings based on the level of restricted keyway this is. It is very likely that you can order a key blank only to realize that it's completely incompatible with your system.
However there is a sure way to know that we're going to be able to provide you with compatible material and that would be knowing the facility code of the key blank that you need to duplicate.
you might be best served by emailing us photographs front and back of the existing key blank so that we can help you determine whether or not this is a project that we can assist you with.

that would permit its use in the the EP, EFP & FP cylinders.
The side bit milling - SBM on these keys should be the same (same Primus account). The JP key will be milled in such a way it would bypass the EP, EFP and FP cylinders, but again the SBM should be the same (must be same Primus Finger pinning to work). In order to be sure that you are provided with the property blank we would want to know the registry information of the Primus system.
Q: What are the keyway types and patents?
A: Primus/Primus XP: In addition to six cuts for standard locking mechanism, there are five side finger pins to operate the secondary sidebar lock. Primus keys will operate non-Primus locks within the same system. Primus blanks and keyways are slightly thinner to prevent the entry of non-Primus keys, however even if a standard key is altered to allow entry, it will not operate Primus locks. This design was protected until 2007 under US Patent # 4,756,177. The current generation Primus, called the Primus XP is a slight modification to the original design and is protected until 2024 under US 7,159,424
Q: What does 468 refer to in primus key blanks? Base material and finish?

A: C is orignal Obverse Schlage keyway.
CP is C but in Primus.
CP will go into C.
C will not go into CP.

Q: Will a Sc4 c key go into an xp cylinder?
A: A 6 pin Classic Obverse C keyway will not enter a Primus XP Cylinder plug.
Q: Hello, I’ve watched many videos on your YouTube channel, some about Primus and some about other topics. I’m writing to ask whether your company can help me order some new Classic Primus cylinders and keys (cut or uncut) with a level 3U side bitting that Allegion will issue to me upon my first order through a distributor. I have a Restricted Product Authorization PDF generated by their Overtur system. It also looks like your website sells other Schlage products like deadbolts and tools, but I haven’t put together a list of SKUs to search your inventory yet. My plan is to see if I can pin the locks and cut the keys myself, or see if a local locksmith can originate keys for me by code, using the blanks I supply them. I also see that it’s possible to order cut keys from the factory: is that true/is it not cost effective? I’d appreciate any help/advice you can provide me. Learning about locks is a hobby of mine, and I’m interested in improving the key control I have for my home, some padlocks, etc., while at the same time not being tied to a specific dealer if I move to another area. A few local dealers in my area either don’t sell Primus or haven’t in years, but I think it’s possible to get enough support (repinning, originating new keys) if they treat it as an SC4-style setup with blanks that I provide.
A: We can absolutely provide you with assistance on entering a 3U primus system. You can have the key blanks shipped to me and I can cut them for you according to how you would want them cut and would be less expensive to do that rather than have the factory cut them for you.
Q: Rich, Thanks for taking the time to speak with me about PRIMUS products. What I am interested in is obtaining schlage 35-157 CP RP key blanks for a level 1 system. If you take a look at the "schlage 2023 key systems cylinders and keys catalog.pdf" on page 5 you will see a chart that, to me at least, shows that the PRIMUS RP key should be available for level 1 systems. If you could reach out to your Schlage contacts to get additional information I would greatly appreciate that. Please let me know what you can find out.
