The doors are 1 3/8” solid pine. 1 - Would you recommend using the magnetic latches for these doors? 2 – If so, which model would you recommend, PLS24PRO or PLS24PROXHD? 3 - After viewing your video and looking at the installation instructions, it indicates that the magnetic latch should be installed on the Hinge/Pivot side. Would this also be the case for these double swinging doors or should it be closer to the center of the door? Any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated before we commit to purchasing 3 of these magnetic hinges. (2 for these double doors and 1 for another door) I await your reply.
While I have never tried this on double acting self centering doors that are inch and 3/8 thick I would suggest that you use the Precision Lock PLS24PROXHD Extra Heavy Duty Concealed Magnetic Catch with Adjustable Strength, Silver and the reasoning is because you can always decrease the amount of magnetic force holding the door in the closed position should you need to buy simply mortising the door components slightly deeper.
Regarding the positioning of magnetic holder, I do not see a reference to it being towards the hinge or pivot style and I would bias it towards what would be the lock style meaning the opposite end of the hinge pivot style.
