Q: Hi I have a bunch of wood windows in my house and the weatherstripping on top and bottom are worn. I'm having trouble trying to find a replacement. They are similar to what you sell on your website. Mine had foam in them but over time it has broken down. My weather stripping looks similar to this. Pemko P50BL 17' Thermoplastic Kerf-In Weatherstrip - Black Do you offer anything similar to this? Kerf Style Weatherstrip with 1/4 Inch Foam Filled Bulb. Thanks Jeff
A: Are yours bulb shape like the Pemko model you refer to?
Q: My weatherstripping on my window is very similar to what you sell. The size I need is 1/2 in deep part that goes into the window by 1/4 bulb area. Foamed bulb would probably be better fit. I've attached a photo of my old bulb seal. Its 14 yrs old on my windows. Thanks
A: I do not have any foam filled bulb type weatherstripping but perhaps this kerfed in type Silicone Kerf Seal would work for your application:

Q: can the customer use silicone to glue in the lip in a saw kerf
A: I would see no incompatibility between the silicone, the thermoplastic and the wood that would cause concern using silicone to act as a glue to keep the weather strip in place.
Having said that I would opt to not use any sort of adhesive work on any in any fashion because part of the elegance of the design of kerfed in style weather stripping is that it can be easily removed in addition to being very effective. The point of it being easily removed is that eventually, and while it might take a decade or more, the material can be replaced when it ultimately fatigues, and as a result of the feature of it being easily replaceable I would dissuade you from using silicone to keep it in place.
Thank you Richard
