Q: The LH, RH, LHR, and RHR need some explination. Thanks

Q: Do you carry the neoprene replacement insert for this product?
A: While it's possible that the manufacturer sells the replacement neoprene insert for the National Guard Products 220NA Clear Anodized Aluminum Automatic Door Bottom with Neoprene insert - Surface Mount, I know from prior experience that it is not possible to field replace the replacement neoprene for this automatic door bottom.
Q: Hello I have been trying to find an insert for the door sweep pictured below (2 pictures) without much success. The door is the hallway entrance door to my condo and is 36 inches wide I believe the mortised door sweep was made by National Guard Products based on pictures as seen here

and the insert is fire rated. I viewed your YouTube videos on National Guard products so I am hoping you can offer some guidance Thanks so much
A: The fairly common question that I get when it comes to replacing the insert on the
National Guard Products 220NA 36" Clear Anodized Aluminum Automatic Door Bottom with Neoprene insert - Surface Mount
The official answer from the factory is that the insert cannot be field replaced nor serviced on your National Guard Products 225N 36" Mill Finish Aluminum Automatic Door Bottom with Neoprene insert - Mortise Mount
as seen here:

and that only purchasing an entire new automatic door bottom would be the way to have a new insert on an automatic door bottom. The factory sites the method of manufacturing used that permanently captures the insert into the drop bar and this results in that seal being unable to be serviced.
Having said that I have had one customer last year order three of the replacement inserts only - he assured me that he would be able to get the insert back into the drop bar - I never did hear back to find out whether or not that gentleman was successful.
Q: Our current insert has been “coming off” for years and I have just slid it back down the channel. Now the end of the insert has torn off. Like the customer you reference below, I would be willing to purchase 3 of the replacement inserts only and give it a try. Would this be possible?
A: I spoke to the manufacturer who told me that they do not (or no longer) sell the replacement insert only. They do however sell the entire drop bar assembly that the insert is attached to and the cost of that would be approximately 65% of the total cost of of an entire brand new automatic door bottom.
If you are comfortable disassembling the unit to install the replacement drop bar only I would suggest that you purchase the drop are only and if you're not comfortable with that procedure I would suggest purchasing an entire new automatic door bottom and please see the link here for the different lengths that we have listed:

Q: Thank you for your research I do have another question The insert in the pictures I sent of my door sweep looks different than the insert in the drawings and videos you reference. Could mine be made by a different manufacturer? My insert doesn’t look as “beefy” and at the bottom has a hole that runs the length of the sweep. If I order the replacement drop bar only, is it returnable if I ultimately decide not to undertake this project? Is the insert on the replacement part removable? I apologize for being a bother, but this is difficult. It appears as though the door has to be removed to do the replacement (either drop bar or a new assembly) and all I really need is an insert. Thanks for your patience!
A: It is possible that your automatic door bottom is not by national guard products - to me though it does look at that as the closest albeit not a guaranteed match.
yes the door does need to come off of the hinges to do any service to it or to replace it - in this instance I would simply suggest that you purchase an entire new automatic door bottom, first sending me the width and height of the mortise in the bottom of the door, and then doing an outright replacement and at that time I would recommend that you order a couple of additional replacement inserts or drop bars as well.
Q: I have an uneven door jam. Im looking at the automatic door bottoms. is there on that will drop lower on the lock side than it does on the hinge side I guess the question is does the part that drops fall evenly or will it articulate to close the large part of the gap I cant use a traditional sweep, when the door swings open towards me there is no gap when it is fully open
A: there are those that drop at the hinge side first and the knife towards the lock side and then there are those that drop evenly - Neither of these will work very well with the problematic unlevel floor that you have - my suggestion would be to mount the unit more parallel to the floor than parallel to the bottom of the door - Your mileage may vary however because it depends on the amount that the floor is out of level and how you install it onto the door- Situations where people need automatic door bottoms are because they cannot use a traditional door sweep for insinging applications
