A: There would be 4 - ways primarily to install a flat bar astragal. If you were working on reverse bevel doors you would apply the flat astragal to the pull side of the active door, however, it could also be applied on the push side of the inactive door however this would be atypical. If you were working on standard bevel doors you would apply the flat astragal to the push side of the inactive door, however, it could also be applied to the pull side of the active door however this would be atypical. Be very clear with your door manufacturer, supplier or installer where you intend they apply the astragal is I have found that not everyone understands the role that astragals ultimately play in pairs of steel doors the same as I do.
