Questions and Answers
Q: Richard I have installed a number of mag locks. Now and then I have tried to use the MBS terminals as my door position switch. Never seems to work. I wire to those terminals and put a meter on the wires. There is no change in state between locked and not locked. I assume this is simply a relay from the description. Any suggestions? I am assuming it can. I have a customer who has had a number of false alarms because the lock was not bonded. I believe it is because the door is not closing correctly and no one is checking it. the DPS is currently a separate magnetic contact and if it is close enough it will show closed but there is no actual bond. Using the MBS would give a better indication of whether or not the door is secure. That would be fine. the lock in question is a locknetics 350, however I have tried this with many locks. I put my meter on the MBS terminals and there is no change in state. If it is a wet contact that would explain it however the ppwk has indicated SPDT
A: Does the circuit board of your 350+ have the DSM contacts? See page two here:

Q: Does it include the power supply?
A: The 350 electromagnetic lock from Locknetics does not include a power supply.

I might suggest a power supply as seen here which is the Locknetics 505:

Q: Can you tell me what the std resistance is on a maglock coil?
A: No. We don’t have a listing of what the resistance of a magnet coil should be. It should be fairly low but still above a direct short. If you can tell me if you are operating the magnet at 12 or 24VDC I can tell you how to bypass the circuit board and if it works then you can use it like that. If not then the entire assembly needs to be replaced.
