A: The Keedex GRD-8BLK 8" Guard Knob for Gates is intended to be screwed to the gate structure but it can be welded. Keep in mind you will compromise the Black powder coat finish in the process but if you can accommodate this problem - I would proceed with confidence.

A: You would simply use an aircraft extension drill bit such as the Irwin line of 12” length drill bits as seen here:
