Q: *could you please send me exploded view of this device. Looking to change out dogging cylinder
Q: how do you dog the push bar using cylinder key
A: Are you referring to the exterior cylinder key?
Q: do the make retro kit to make it an EL panic
A: There is unfortunately no kit to make a 1786 into a 1786 EL - sorry.
Q: THE 1786 EL RIM PANIC WE HAVE DOES NOT HAVE A DOGGING KEY AND WE CANNOT DOG DOWN WITH THE KEY EITHER HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?
A: Do you have an electrically unlatched device? Please give me an operational description of the opening and I will advise on your options.
Q: Does the Kawneer 1786 device use a Rim Cylinder ?
A: If referring to cylinder dogging or the Kawneer lever escutcheon trim it would be a mortise cylinder. If referring to adding simple exterior cylinder control it would be a rim cylinder.
Q: Does this unit beep when there is an issue? My customer says it was beeping but it never did while I was on site
A: Regarding a beeping sound emanating from the Kawneer 1786 EL Rim Exit Device - 3' Door, Clear Finish - I could not account for where a beeping sound would originate from however there would certainly be an audible sound when the solenoid is retracting the latch - is it possible your client is confusing that sound as a beeping sound?
Q: does the 1786EL have a retractable latch?
A: The 1786EL featured electric latch retraction replaced by the MEL version.
Q: are el panic seems ton be going in reverse, it is powered up but it does not retract. when we spin it manually to open position. when we apply power it spins open? WE have tryed reversing wires.
A: Does your exit device have a solenoid or a motor? What power supply do you have?
