Q: I bought some Part #: BAHCO BB0168-NRP 5x5 BAHCO BB0168-NRP 5x5in Hinge-Full Mortise-Heavy Weight-Ball Bearing-Non Removable Pin-Steel Base hinges. Two questions: Is there an "up" orientation, and if so, how do I handly left and right opening? 2) Can I turn the pin around so the button is the same on both left and right hung doors? Thank you
A: There is not an "Up" because your 2) is yes. simply reverse the pin and the opposite end top and you will have the same orientations for both left and right hung doors.
Is there a follow up question that we can perhaps attempt to answer? We take deep pride in our technical expertise (something Amazon can not provide) as we know it separates us from our competition, so don't hesitate to ask.

Q: One question: Is the pin removable on these? (by first loosening a set screw)
A: Indeed yes, though hinges with an NRP or non-removable pin feature lead one to believe the pin cannot be true, it is not so and in fact is a bit of a misnomer. The pin can be removed provided that the set screw first is loosened to the point that it permits the pin to pass through the interior of the barrel to be driven out.
Once you have separated the hinge leafs to hang the door you would then bring the door back to the jamb and mate the knuckles together, tap down the hinge pin and then reset the set screw and that will then all but permit the pin from being removed when the set screw has been set.
