Q: We have two 24 inch crome towel bars (5/8 in tube) and need new fasterners, as ours are worn out. Do you sell fasterners only? We need four.
A: Sorry, we do not have the bolts for 24” towel bars in BS finish. We only have a few in the PS finish.

Q: Thank you very much for your quick response to my question. Unfortunately this is probably a bit more than I can do, especially considering that I need two of them. I will certainly have to think about this. In considering the item I do have a few questions: What is the width and thickness of the mounting bolt's head? (I need to know thickness as it must fit in between the sliding doors and the door frame on the other side.) The picture appears to look like the bar is one piece, is this correct? I am sure the bar is most of the price, but if I drilled out the holes to maybe 1/4" (I don't believe the door could handle 1/2") would this make them any cheaper? Does the quoted price include shipping, and what is your return policy concerning custom items in case this doesn't fit at all? That's all I can think of for the moment. Q: I have a bath with a shower which has two sliding doors. Each door has two 1 inch holes in the glass. The holes are 24 inches apart center to center. The doors slide by each other with a 1/2 inch tolerance. I need to find two towel rods that are 24 inches long. That will mount in the 1 inch holes and have back plates ( mounting nuts ) that are very thin such that they do not hit each other. I am hoping to find in clear acrylic or oiled bronze. Q: Yes. 1 inch. It seems that is larger than normal. Maybe I can put washers around it?
A: We can certainly have custom 1 1/4" diameter bars made, resilient washers, stainless fender washer, countersunk washer with a 1/4" flat head bolt, all stacked together, but you would want a neoprene bushing that has a 1" OD and a 1/2" ID. It is certainly possible - but costly as you might imagine. Does this all sound like a potential solution?

The issue is the brand must be the same as the thread type must be compatible. The upside with AIW is the cost and quality. Very fair cost and excellent quality. The down side is is the towel bar is in brushed stainless finish and the knob is available only in brushed nickel finish. This this combination acceptable or shall I investigate further?

ships from the factory with an allen wrench to tighten and loosen the screw. In actuality it's not an allen wrench that is utilized to loosen the bolts - you would use a spanner wrench. A common hardware Spanner wrench can't be reviewed here:

The factory includes an allen wrench because it's simply a tool that is small enough to fit inside of the hole that is drilled in the base of your nut - as a result, any small, yet, strong object that will fit inside of that hole can be used to turn the nut counterclockwise in order to loosen the nut to gain access to the nylon washer which you can then replace and is available at the link as seen here:
