A: This hinge plate does not feature a mounting for drilling and tapping into but a common installation would require a hole for you to plug weld the plate to the jamb. I suppose you could we drill and tap that hole slightly larger but that's an awfully large screw that you're going to have to use. What is the frame made of?

A: Are you going to weld the plate to the frame or do you want to drill and tap it?

A: In this case I would simply use a 12-24 tap and I would buy a drill bit that goes with the 12-24 tap as seen here:

I would then purchase the proper screws for doing that which would be a undercut head type screw as seen here:
