Maximum 0.5" (12.7mm) clearances allowed at the bottom of fire-rated doors do not leave much room for error
Fire ratings lost when installation or alignment problems cause larger clearances can be restored using these INTUMET™ solutions, without the costs of structural changes or door replacement
Restore for 90 minute fire-rated metal doors with excessive undercut up to 1.250"
Tested under UL 10C, UBC 43-2, NFPA 252 standards by an independent laboratory

Q: Install instructions?
A:
The manufacturer does not offer published installation instructions for the Zero 521FS AA Clear Anodized Door Sweep with Intumet however the #521FS is for hollow metal doors only. The door would have to be taken down and the 521FS is screwed into the bottom of the door. It is designed to fit into the channel on the bottom of the door. The unit is mechanically fastened and the screws pierce through the intumescent material.
