The TM-9 is compatible with all of our buttons. The module is not too large but I do not believe it will fit behind a narrow style plate. I just did some "Tetris" style measuring with a regular sized plate and it should fit behind one of those without a problem.
There is no back box with our buttons, only trim rings (sometimes called plaster rings) with the standard plates. We do not make anything for narrow style buttons. However, our sister company Alarm Controls does indeed make metal back boxes for single gang and narrow style buttons.
