Q: Does an ND50 or ND53 unlock when closing the door?
A: Both the ND50 and ND53 will not unlock when the door is shut. The only way to pop the button is by turning the key on the outside or the lever on the inside.
Occasionally customers will complain that the button does pop out when the latch is depressed. A common mistake is that they test the lock out of the door and depress the slide (see figure below), thinking that they are simulating the door shutting- when in fact they are simulating the inside lever turning.

The proper way to test is to install a latch on the chassis and depress the latchbolt.

Q: Is the latch sold separate on the ND series?
A: Latches are sold separately, see current Pricebook for part numbers.
Q: Will Schlage locks with a BD suffix accept a BEST SFIC core?
