SARGENT	ANSI	Function Description
04	F86	04: Storeroom or Service
		Guardbolt deadlocks latchbolt. Latchbolt by knob/lever or key outside. Outside knob/lever rigid at all times.
05	F81	05: Entrance/Office
		Guardbolt deadlocks latchbolt. Latchbolt by either knob/lever unless outside knob/lever is locked by push-turn button in inside knob/lever. Turn button must be released manually. Key retracts latchbolt when outside knob/lever is locked.
37	F84	37: Classroom
		Guardbolt deadlocks latchbolt. Latchbolt by either lever unless outside lever is locked by key. Key in outside lever locks or unlocks outside lever. Inside lever always operative.

Questions and Answers

Q: So this guy called and has some of these locks with a button in the attached photos. They want to get a lever with a different type of lock on it because he says that every time they go out the door, it locks on them. These look super cheap and they say Advantage. Says their contractor isn't being of any assistance to them and is looking for help... Would this require that they change the entire lockset out to something different, ya think? Not real sure if we can even help this guy or what I even should ask for..?

A: that is an entrance function meaning it can always be left in the unlocked position and if it's locking on them when they go out the door then they were intentionally locking it behind them.

I would ask them to explain how it is that the door is locking on them when the button shown in the attached image is clearly in the unlocked position.

Understanding the actual problem - the client would be best served by simply installing a wall stop such as the item as seen here :

The hole that is in that concave. is specifically intended to receive the push button so to prevent the automatic unintentional relocking of the door If a wall shop is not an option but we can certainly sell them keyed locks that will only have a button that turns and does not push and I would calculate about $20 each for those
