Q: I’m looking for a Sargent REM lever / handle with a storage room lock / cylinder on it. The handles would be one - aided only, with a flush plate on the back side (being used for a wheelchair lift). Finish to be #630, satin stainless. I’m looking for two of these.
A: Mike you would configure this lock as the following:
2 - Sargent 8231 x LN x REM x 630
Not available with a cylinder in the lever and needs to be built as a mortise lock.

Q: Thank you Richard. Do you have an equivalent that looks similar, which is available with a cylinder lock built into the handle? The doors and frames are already on site, and do not have the ability to receive a separate door lock. According to the door manufacturer, it was prepped for a Sergant REM handle and plunger.
A: okay - Sargent states the REM is available only on mortise locks and exit devices. Can you send me photos of the door and frame prep?
A: thanks Mike - the door supplier did not prep the door for am REM complaint lock.
The only way to get the function of lock and design requested would be the replace the door with a door prepped for a mortise lock. I can provide the door as well.
Q: The only trouble is that a mortise style lock doesn’t work with the wheelchair lift interlock we have to have. Do you have a similar looking handle set that can have the cylinder built into the handle? Thanks for your help.
A: I can indeed order for you a keyed storeroom lever it would have a blank plate on the opposite side possible in the Schlage Broadway Lever.
