Q: How do you change the punch & die on a RYTAN 2000 key punch?
A: Are you asking if you can field change the punch & die from the Rytan RY2000 DUAL Key Machine to swap out a worn or damage set with a new set? Wht do you need to change the punch and die?
Q: When I purchased this unit there were no directions as to how to change the punch & die when you switch from one type of key blank to another. So being the snoopy kind of person I am I started checking it out. As it turned out when you remove the depth knob there is a small plastic washer under it, you need to remove this washer & that allow's you to slide the long depth rod back far enough to exchange the punch & die unit. You would think they would of had the foresight to put these instructions in their operator's manual, that being said it sure is a very well built machine. John W.

A: May I ask why you would want the depth knob on both sides? Would it be for a reason of possibly being left-handed?
Q: No. Not Left handed. We noticed that it had a left and right side jaw. An empty slot on the right side. Just wondering if we could add another (A2) jaw to the right side to be able to punch out more then one key at a time. Or maybe, if possible to add a jaw for (SC1) on the right with the one (A2) on the left. If the two (A2) jaws are not possible.
A: Unfortunately the Rytan RY2000 DUAL Key Machine cannot cut more than one key at a time. Its purpose is to have the ability to interchange between two different systems on the fly but there was only one set of punch and die in the machine.
