Q: I ordered you Rockwood 602-613 Secret Gate Latch- Satin Oxidized Oil Rubbed Bronze product through Sears by way of Architectural Builders Supply (Order # 38114) on 4/30/2013. In was delivered a few weeks later and has been installed for a little less than 2 years. One of the arms on the Tension Spring broke under normal usage indoors, making the latch unreliable. I have searched for a replacement spring for this latch and am unable to find one. Would you be able to let me order a replacement tension spring for this latch? If not, could you please list a quote for a replacement latch? Thank You for your prompt reply! Richard

Q: It seems that latch is not reversible in the sense that it will only work on certain hinged doors without revealling the secrecy of the push button. For example, I am looking for the exact opposite
A: The term secret is only intended to apply to the fact you do not see a latch from the "locked side" of the door when viewed in elevation. If you peek over the gate, regardless of button location, the secret is revealed.
Q: Would it work on gate outside?
A: I will indeed work on an exterior gate but is intended for interior use as it contains items not best suited for an exterior application, such as the spring being made of steel.
Q: thanks for taking the time to reply. I wish someone would come up with a trick to make opening an outside gate difficult. Since this item contains rustable parts, not ideal for outside, as you mention.
A: Perhaps install a keyed deadbolt on your gate.
Q: item # 602-613 is that @ $ 53.74 for one gate latch
A: Yes, the Rockwood 602-613 Secret Gate Latch - Satin Oxidized Oil Rubbed Bronze
is priced per each gate latch.
