Q: Dear AB team - I spoke with Matthew today, and he was to send me some information on flush bolts with extended length bolts. I wanted to make sure he has my correct email address: kindly share this message with him. Thank you.
A: Are you asking for a longer length bolt head?
Q: I am looking for a 1" wide flush bolt, 6 3/8" long. Pictures are attached, either Chrome or Aluminum finish is fine. Just let me know if you need any more information. Images are here:

A: We are not able to modify the height of the 555. We do not have an alternate at the requested dimension. Short of custom manufacturing a flush bolt (which can be done) - I have no way to supply this 6-3/8" tall flush bolt for you - sorry
Q: I have an 8' tall HM door with 3hr rating and want to know what length rod would be required for purchase along with the 555 in order to make the opening ADA accessible.
A: The 555 Lever Extension Flush Bolt comes standard with a 12” rod. You can get an extended rod up to 48” but for it to be UL the max is a 36” extended rod.
The manufacturer doesn't give any ADA info out because every state is different. It is up to the customer or end user to have that information confirmed with your AHJ.
Q: Thanks for the video. Can this be used upside down - meaning locking it at the bottom?
A: Most certainly the
Rockwood 555 Lever Extension Flush Bolts can be used either at the top of the door or at the bottom of a door and will function correctly regardless of orientation.
Q: Where can I find one with more inches into the ground?
A: What dimension do you require from the bottom of the door to the centerline of the faceplate?
Q: Can I use a 555 on a wood door with a 36" rod non rated?
A: It can be used - it can be done I've done it countless times myself though it's quite tricky to field drill especially given the length that you're talking about, in fact I would encourage you to consider an alternative products such as the DCI 960 as seen here:

This will give you an automatic sort of operation independent of the door height allowing you to sidestep the requirements of drilling that far down in the door - having said that if you're having your door manufacturer make the doors from scratch they can easily modify the components when assembling the door to account for this extreme length when it comes to the flush bolt height.
I can supply you with not only the hardware, the skill and knowledge of how to do it along with even selling you the tools to do it yourself. Reach out to our sales department for further assistance.
Q: Ive got a couple stuck In the lock position any tips on getting it out?
A: I would die grind or sawzall right through the bolts and then I replace the bolt heads as seen here:

Q: Hello Richard, thank you for your assistance in the past. Wondering if you could help me source a recessed flushbolt that has a longer throw than the traditional ¾”? I know we can have extension rod but the floor has a lot of variation of over an inch so the long throw is needed.
A: I guess you want to bolt the door in the closed position but also when the door is at the fully open position. While there are longer bolt heads available for flushbolts (longer bolt heads are to maintain the required amount of projection into the strike for security or fire door applications), but there is no flushbolt that will allow you to bolt the door in the open position where your clearance would be likely greater than the clearance when the door is closed.
Consider a cane bolt as seen here:

Q: How do I know if I need a 555 rather than a 557? Also have a 570 (DPS) at the bottom.
A: The 555 is an extension type:

whereas the 557 is a corner type:

really easy to spot once you know what you are looking for.
The DPS is of no consequence.
