Q: I'm looking at getting a product like this for a hidden drawer but I'm worried about its strength. If a child (4 - 7) tugs hard enough will it give out?
A: It is possible it will as it is not rated for this, but my opinion is that it would take more than a "tug" to destroy this hardware. It is indeed plastic, but well made and the "pullman" shape of the latchbolt would make it a fairly strong piece of hardware. I am confident, even though I cannot commit to the success, you might be surprised with the installation once complete.

Q: I want to use it in a tray type application where the tray folds out from underneath a cupboard. How much weight would it be able to handle?
A: Very neat idea. This latch is not load rated but would expect it to handle a reasonable amount of weight - I do however question is the latch will retract nicely with a load applied. Can you provide additional information so as to better formulate an answer?
Q: I'm trying to find a hidden lock solution that will allow me to use the magnetic key to both unlock the cabinet, AND, serve as a handle to pull the cabinet door open without using any other handle or knob. Is this key & lock sufficiently strong that I could use the key as a handle to open the cabinet door (3/4" ply door, approx 21" x 24"? My goal is to have a hidden lock system that will allow access to a cabinet that has no exterior handle or pull. Wondering if this or other similar products allow this.
A: In short - I am unfamiliar with any type of a magnetic lock that would allow you to use the key to unlock the lock but also act a pull to pull the door open. I imagine you need a pull handle because you don't have any finger hold to get the door open?
