Q: Hello, Can you send me information on your solid core interior dutch doors? My need is for an office setting, and I'll need to order three or four dutch doors, depending on how floor plan changes develop. Three will be for installation into existing door frames, the fourth, if needed, would be pre-hung. I want these to have a shelf with brackets on one side of the bottom door on each, but it may be more practical to have those added on site, as I don't want to complicate shipping. I need to be able to use a deadbolt lock into the door frame for both top and bottom, so I need sufficiently wide stiles to accommodate that, rather than locking the top door to the bottom door. Installation will be in (location and name removed)

Q: Can an auto operator be installed on a Dutch door?

A: Auto Operators installed on Dutch Doors is not a common application and may be found in Day Care or Health Care facilities where the door is required to function as typical door opening with an operator, but at times just open the top half of the Dutch Door.

However - Yes, an automatic operator can be installed on a Dutch door.

The operator must be installed on the top leaf of the Dutch door.

Only the top half will open unless the top and bottom leaves (sections) are interlocked.

Interlocking the top and bottom leaves together can be accomplished by Surface Bolt - for non fire rated applications or Approved latch set - required for fire rated applications

When both leaves are interlocked the Dutch Door will operate as a typical single door with an auto operator installed.

Q: What is the maximum size for a Dutch Door?

A: Maximum Dutch Door sizes are:

Non Labeled = 4'0" wide X 8'0" High

Labeled = 4'0" wide X 7'2" High

Special sized Dutch Doors are available:

Special size top and/or bottom leaves are available.
