Q: we have a front entry that has a high wall above, and no roof or gutter. When raining hard the rain comes right down the wall and creates a waterfall at front entry. Will the pemko 346 divert water to the left and right of doorway, or will it still just fall right in front of entry? Is there another solution?
A: Thank you very much for the question. The Pemko 346 aluminum overhead rain drip cap will not divert rain to the left or to the right unless of course you install it out of level as its intent is to drive we ran away from the face of the door and the frame.
I suppose you could, over enough span, put a slight amount of belly into the installation to make drive left and right, but only to the point to where this is indistinguishable to the eye so that you will have water driving to the left and to the right, however having said this, water is primarily going to hit the top of the drip cap and then fall down off of the leading edge of the drip cap and not necessarily whatsoever to the left and right.
And having thought about that even more I'm quite convinced that driving the water intentionally left or right will produce very little actual results.
I can say with 100% assurance that drip caps, and especially the Pemko 346 series, are outrageously successful in helping drive water away from the face of the wallm the face of the header, the gap between the top of the door and the underside of the header and the entire face of the door.
I would strongly suggest that you install a Pemko 346 drip cap as soon as practical and then observe the results and make additional changes from there.
Please report back your results.
Q: I want to put a drip cap above my garage door (7' door). Do you have one long enough for that.
A: Yes we do and her is the 84" length of the Pemko 346A Mill Finish Aluminum Overhead Rain Drip Cap

Q: I have a 16 ft garage door. Should I order TWO 96" sections and seal the joint in the middle? Also is the height 1 11/16"?
A: I would suggest that you order three sections is anything longer than 7 foot drastically affects the shipping price. I would suggest that you order the total length so that it is wider than your door opening by approximately 2”. Therefore I would look to purchase pieces that were approximately 66” as seen here:

Regarding the overall height, in the technical drawing as seen here:

The manufacturer indicates the height to be 1-1/2”
