Keep in mind that it may not match the rest of accessory Hardware that you already will have such as an arm or a drop plate. Our rebuild shop will also repaint your accessories for an additional charge. Select these options above. Customer Unit Repair and Exchange Service Program Details: We feature two programs for handling your door closer repair and replacement needs. Choosing our Repair Service is where you complete checkout through the website or over the telephone. We will email you the address to where your door closer body is to be sent to. Be sure to retain the tracking number of your shipment and ship the item(s) as Signature Required. We will receive the package, complete the repair and rebuild process and ship back the same model door closer. The door closer we send is usually not the exact unit you will ship to us. If you want us to return your exact unit, simply indicate this in the comment field. This usually adds 1-week to the shipping lead time. Choosing our Exchange Service option will give you the opportunity to first buy the rebuilt item which will be shipped to you in 2 to 3 days. Once the original door closer is replaced, you can send the door closer (sometimes referred to as a "core") unit back where we offer a 40% core refund. The advantage of this program is that you do not have to completely take a door out of service while you wait for the repair work to be done. Once the order is placed for the Exchange, we ship this rebuilt door closer from our stock within 2 - 3 days. Once you receive the unit, you perform the swap and ship back the original door closer. Be sure to retain the tracking number of your shipment and ship the item(s) as Signature Required. Original door closer bodies, "cores", are to be sent back within 30 - days to qualify for the partial core refund. All Rebuilt items are subjected to a Complete Tear Down process: rebuilt using all new parts and first cleaned with cooker soap in a process not unlike cleaning cast iron cookware. All new parts include new O rings, new oil, new paint, etc; and brought back to factory original performance and specifications. Warranty: 1 year. Generally our repair shop keeps rebuilt units on hand. When sending your broken door closer unit, ship only the immediate item to be repaired. Keep all arms, plates, brackets and screws in your possession. Very Important to send back only the "core" and nothing else as those extraneous items cannot be returned. Q: I’m installing 12 of these tomorrow on a movie set. Are there left and right closers? I’m using the corner mounting brackets and it’s swinging away from the stationary closer. Anyone have instructions on how to install or measurements I can use?

A: The Norton C Rebuilt "C" Potbelly/Traditional Surface Door Closer is indeed a handed closer and while I do not have installation instructions for the Norton C Rebuilt "C" Potbelly/Traditional Surface Door Closer, the bottom line is most Traditional (Pot Belly) Closers are the same. Therefore please review the installation instructions for the Yale Traditional door closer as seen here:

Set the arm according to your mounting type and hand of door however there is one very important requirement when it comes to this type of closer hung on a corner bracket which is, according to the manufacturer:

All of the following frame-mounted brackets require the use of a regular arm door closer of the opposite hand from the hand of the door. Use the Parallel Arm Sizing Chart to select the correct size of closer to use when the closer is to be mounted on a corner bracket.

Q: i have a norton E door closer, can it be exchaned or will it need a rebuild The other door has a d mounted. can it be moved to the left door
