Q: Do they make a heavy duty door closer that can go on the exterior side of a building exit door? If so, standard aluminum color is fine and how much?
A: They do make models with a:
CWF (cold weather fluid)
closer fluid is a specially formulated multi-viscosity hydraulic fluid that contains lubricity and anti-oxidation agents that provide optimum performance and efficiency. This fluid complements the interaction of the door closer's aluminum housing with its steel and brass components, while maintaining stable viscosity to allow the door closer to perform in temperatures ranging from extremely high to as low as -40° F.
SS (Corrosion-resistant)
Corrosion-Resistant Door Closer is prepared with molded plastic cover are available for use where corrosive conditions exist. This series is provided with brass adjustment valves, a 440 grade stainless steel pinion shaft, an all-aluminum body and bronze closer arm bushings; all other components are of 302/303 grade stainless steel. Fasteners are 8-18 stainless steel. This product is available for standard regular arm, top jamb and parallel arm, non-hold open, applications only.
The Norton 7500SS is an example of this closer and can be seen here:

Q: What LCN closer is comparable to the Norton 7500?
A: According to LCN:
The Falcon SC71 is an exact replacement for the Norton 7500.
Q: I loosened a screw to much and it came out with fluid. can i replace the fluid or do i need to buy a new unit
A: Once the fluid has come out of the valve the only options would be to buy a new door closer body or send us yours for repair.
Q: Want to install Norton 7500/7700 on fire exit (Non Hold Open and no Delayed Action). Door is RHR and needs Parallel Arm installation. I dont know if I need to be concerned about difference between 7500 and 7700 - and what the difference is. What should I order and do you have it in stock? PS - Have a Norton 7702 (without mounting hardware) that had been used on an interior door. Little fluid leakage so not comfortable re-using it, plus mounting hardware is missing. Would hate to throw away - can send in for rebuild.
A: The 7700 was a Sized Door Closer where as the 7500 is a Multi-Sized Door Closer as mentioned on page 6 of this product cut sheet as seen here:
