A: I would locate the drip cap as close to the top of the window as possible. How do you plan to attach the drip cap to your stucco face?

A: That sounds like a good plan and I would also suggest that you run a generous continuous bead of silicone along the back side of the drip cap as well meaning once you get the unit put into place all the holes are marked and you've drilled all the holes and the anchors are set and you know it's going to fit then run that generous bead of silicone along down the back side and then attach it to the wall. You might also consider purchasing Aluminum Phillips Rounded Head Screws for Sheet Metal just so as to keep the possibility of galvanic corrosion or oxidation from happening as well - we can supply you with these specialty screws.
