Q: I attached the door closer for a left hand door and I can't adjust the closing speed. I took the closer off the bracket but how do I fix it so that I can adjust it when I reinstall it?

Q: Is this a new closer or refurbished?
A: The MPOWR MP-800 Light Duty Rotary Door Closer
we sell are brand new original units.
Q: The problem is this is installed on a trash shoot that is a few stories up. How do you adjust the speed in that case?
A: Turn adjustment screw E as seen in the installation instructions here:

Q: These are the same instructions given with the item and it clearly states that the door needs to be close to adjust? Is there any other way?
A: Remove the arm from the frame, let the arm close so the door closer "thinks" it is int he closed position, adjust E without letting the arm move, reattached the arm once complete and check for operation and adjust as necessary.
Q: Would this help stop the wind from whipping my door open?
A: I dont believe that it would make the problem any worse but light duty door closers are not engineered nor designed to prevent a door from being “whipped” open. If the application is especially prone to high wind conditions this may damage the hardware. Such as theI would be tempted to give it a try but I might add a crash chain such as the
Ultra Hardware 96222 28" Crash Chain w Vinyl Cover - Zinc Finish
as well as seen here:
Q: I need the distance between (4) holes on the universal bracket to predrill the door. Where can i get that information?
A: The hole spacing in the mounting bracket is:
Horizontal = 13/16"
Vertical = 1-7/8"
