Product Description:
monarch logo Rim Exit Device
The 904H seen on the head case or the end cap of a variety or Monarch and Falcon exits devices is not a part number but it's simply a UL listing certification meaning the 904H is the number that the underwriters laboratory has on file as certifying that unit as UL listed (not to be confused with fire rated). In other words, The "904H" is a UL Panic label that is placed on the centercase of the Falcon/Monarch Panic device.

We have created this part number in the website to solely be of assistance to clients when trying to identify a replacement exit device, trim options or simply replacement parts for a variety of different Falcon or Monarch exit devices.

If you have an exit device with this number seen on it please email us at our contact information in the upper right hand corner of the website, photographs of your specific device and we will assist you with determining which series device you have and working towards conclusion to satisfy your needs.

In the extended description of the item below are Customer Supplied Photos showing a variety of other instances where we have captured photographs to identify the exit device.

We have seen the 904H on the Monarch 19, 17, 18 & XX series devices and we expect it is on others as well. We will update this list as we are able to confirm its existence on additional series of exit devices.

The 904H number is not to be confused with the Glynn Johnson #904H which is a valid part number for an overhead stop from a sister company to Monarch or Falcon.
If you have located this item you are probably in search of a replacement exit device or replacement parts for an exit device where either on the end cap or on the head case you have found the number 904H. A: Thank you very much for the images and according to what you supplied it appears as if you have a Simplex LP1000 series exit trim along with a Monarch 18R exit device, an exit device that was discontinued many years ago.

when you attempt to combine these two pieces of equipment there is a third component that is required and according to the Kaba published documentation the application of the LP1000 and the 18-R:

requires special K-Hub Adapter Kit, not supplied by Kaba

Unfortunately Monarch, now branded as Falcon, has discontinued that kay hub adapter rendering the marriage of the above to mentioned equipments not possible with the only factory prescribed means to rectify is to replace the exit device outright with the manufacturers current model which is the Falcon 25-R which is compatible with the Simplex LP1000 series automatically.

a link to the manufacturer's product catalog for that exit device can be reviewed here:

And I would refer specifically to the 62’nd page of that document.

Q: Richard: I'm the guy that called yesterday about replacing this door handle because the keys have gone missing. It's your standard Panic Hardware 904H. See the two images here:

and let me know if you need more information. I can be reached at this email address or call [removed]. Thanks, Scott W.

A: Thank you very much for the email and I understand that the only problem you have is that the keys are missing.

I suggest three possible options from least costly to most:

  • Option 1 is to remove that lever trim and ship it to us where we can open the trim, make keys for it and send it back to you - this would be by far the least expensive however it would involve you removing lever access from the outside and while I understand you don't have keys now it would leave your exit device exposed to tampering by which someone may be able to enter that door with little prior knowledge.

  • Option 2 would be to replace the entire lever trim outright. While this would be nowhere near as an expensive as re-keying the existing cylinder by sending the trim to us this would allow you to within a very short amount of time completely resolved the issue upon receipt of the replacement rubber trim.

  • Option 3 would be to call a locksmith to your location and have them perform the work of creating new keys for that lever trim on site. while this would be the most expensive option it would be the option representative of the least amount of work on you specifically.

For any component of your project that we may assist with.

  • Q: I will send you off my trim and ask for you to review.
A: Scott - we did indeed receive your exit device trim. We have picked the lever open in a ready to produce keys but in the process we discovered that the exit device trim is master keyed and we have recorded the bitting but we need direction from you now as to how to go about and proceed with cutting keys - do you want to preserve any existing keys that worked the cylinder originally?
Q: Thank you for your quick response. We do not need to preserve any existing keys. They are long gone. If you could make four keys for this cylinder, that would be perfect. Scott
A: Understood. I have sent you an email with a Paypal link. Please execute payment and send us your shipping address. And thank you!
Q: I have a Monarch 904H Sticker on a device that my customer wants to replace with new doors - can you help identify the correct model?
A: Yes - Please reply to this email with photographs of your Monarch - Falcon 904H Panic Exit Device Assembly.
Q: Is there anyway to add a latch retraction kit to a Falcon 19-V? Will the latch retractions kit by command access MLRK1-FAL25 work
A: ELR is not an option that can be added to an existing 19V. Is is possible to add and electric strike? Folger Adam manufacturers models for SVER devices.
Q: The torsion spring in the latch popped out of place. It appears a piece of it is broken. Is there anyway to replace it? I have the Monarch 18/XX-R
A: Assuming we can locate the spring, it can be replaced. Email us photos of your device and the broken spring as we will advise.
Q: I was wondering if you would be able to tell me what series this Monarch SVR is? That is the 19V. Stil made. Look under Falcon (no longer Monarch)
