Q: Can a 25 series EO device work with any 25 series trim?
A: I can tell you that originally Monarch exit devices were absolutely built based on the function that they were required to perform, nowadays and for the last several years the devices are not built function specific and the exit only(EO) devices will accept any of the 500 series trims.
Q: Will the 25-C series rods and latches work on the old 18-C?
A: The internal rods and latches for the 25-C carried over from the older 18-C device so they can be used interchangeably.
Q: Will the 25-R or 25-V work with Simplex trim?
A: The 25-R or 25-V device does meet the trim input requirements set by KABA for their trim so the two should be compatible. However, the KABA trim has never been tested in house for the Falcon 25-R or 25-V device so which specific KABA model, any testing, compatibility concerns, or templating questions would best be addressed by KABA directly.
Q: How thick of door will the standard 24/25 series device mounting package work with?
A: Standard mounting packages are only for a 1 3/4" thick door. Door thickness other than 1 3/4" need to be specified when ordering the device.
Q: Can the Falcon 25-V be cut to fit on a 2' door?
A: The standard Falcon 25V vertical rod cannot be cut to fit on a 2 feet door opening. This device requires 2' 7 1/8" minimum door opening.
Falcon offers a device that can be used on a 2 feet door opening.
The 2’ Falcon 24/25 Surface Vertical devices can be used for fire rated assemblies. Keep in mind that NFPA 101 Section 7.2.1.7.1 requires the push pad extend not less than one-half of the width of the door. The push pad width is approximately 10 5/8” which means this device can be used on a door up tois a maximum of 21 1/4" wide and still meet this code.
Q: Do 25 series exit devices have a hurricane rating available?
A: Yes they do. Order the 25 device with the "HH" prefix as described in the device options in the Price Book.
Q: Will a 25R-L cover the door prep from a 18-R-L?
A: Yes, the holes on the door would be covered up by the 25-R-L device.
The (4) center case mounting holes are in the same location but there are some small modifications that will be needed like the 3/4" dia. hole at device CL for the main cam clearance shown on the 25-R Template as seen here:

and the now (2) mounting holes at the end cap end of the device shown on step 14 of the 25-R Instructions.
Q: Can a 24-R, 24-V, 25-R, or 25-V device use just a cylinder on the pull side for NL-OP function?
A: This is possible. A rim cylinder with cylinder anchor plate is used (anchor plate provided with rim cylinder package). No other special components are required. Order device as NL-OP. An exit-only device will be shipped, along with a template/instruction sheet that indicates how to mount the rim cylinder. Pricing is same as an exit-only device.
For metal doors, prep door according to the 24R/V NL-OP Template or the 25R/V NL-OP Template and for wood doors use 24R/V NL-OP Wood Template or 25R/V NL-OP Wood Template as seen here:

Q: Is dogging available w/ EL option on 24 or 25 series devices?
A: This option is not available as the solenoid is in the mechanism case where the dogging components would go. An HD-EL solenoid is not available, and Special Dogging(SD) is not an option for the Falcon line even via Engineering Specials.
Electrical dooging is an option by using a PS914 x 2RS board with a switch to maintain dogging when needed.
