A: Not at all. Very different specifications. Which hinge does your application call for?

Q: So which one is the better of the two? We specified the T4A3786, but the contractor wants to substitute for the MPB79, Should I say no?

A: Not a question of better but a question of difference of application. These are not equal whatsoever. The T4A3786 is a heavyweight hinge recommended for use on high frequency and/or heavy wood doors. Specification is here:
