I am not the "code police". in fact drilling the door for the deadbolt did not void the fire rating. You are permitted to drill holes "for cylinders". Though the prep in the frame certainly voided the fire rating. Not that the assembly (the door frame, hinges etc) would fail in a fire event, the issue is, your assembly has not been tested. The standard NFPA 80:
is the governing resource when it comes to what is permissible on fire doors and ought to be consulted (or a CFDAI) prior to doing work. The important part of this story, you may not care nor need to care about this field modification you have performed, but what if you worked in a condo building, hotel, hospital, school, nursing home and you performed this same field modification, there was an inspection (annual field inspection of fire doors are mandatory on certain occupancy types)? This would technically place every one of these doors as no longer fire rated. There are countless instances of examples of where closed and latched, code compliant fire doors have saved life and property. Check before you prep.
