Major HIT-60 Drill Guide for Electrified Lock Wire Run Through Door
  • Drill Guide for Electrified Lock Wire Run Through Door
  • The HIT-60 drill guide provides an easy and accurate way to drill the wire raceway required for electrified locks

  • Both drill guide and clamps are rubber lined to protect the door and provide a positive grip
  • Standard HIT-60 will drill a 1-3/4" door with a 3/8" diameter hole
  • A 48" carbide drill bit is supplied with the HIT-60
  • Intended for use on non-fired rated doors only

Questions and Answers
Q: Could this work for a honeycomb-filled metal door? The problems I forsee: (1) tear up the honeycomb instead of drill through it, (2) the mortise area is surrounded by a metal box which the long bit would have to drill through if I start from the hinge side.
A: I agree the honeycomb will not yield to drilling as elegantly as other materials. Regarding the hole that you need to put into the back of the reinforcement box youre not going to want to drill that from the hinge side. Use a shorter drill boat and drill this through the 86 cavity.
