36" SmartBar
  • Dual infrared detection circuits – patent pending
  • No Moving Parts - One Motion Egress
  • Audible alarm standard, alerts prolonged unlock condition
  • DPDT relay standard - signals access control panel or auxiliary device
  • Electronic switching device with no moving parts
  • Heavy duty aluminum extrusion with cast metal end caps - Maximum durability
  • Field reversible, field sized
  • Quick install brackets / Universal mounting system for aluminum, hollow metal and wood doors
  • Low profile for greater clearance through door
  • Serves as a non-latching request to exit bar at an egress door.
  • Allows one motion egress at doors equipped with electromagnetic or electronic locks, with “no prior knowledge” required by the user.
  • Touching the Smartbar at any point on the bar activates internal circuitry which controls power to the locking device.
  • No moving parts results in low maintenance and long life.
  • Provides two directionally opposed infrared detection circuits to sense an exit request. As a person touches the bar the light beam is broken.
  • The patent pending redundant system provides a high level of life safety and peace of mind to the end user.
  • An audible alarm is standard. This feature provides a security alarm to alert when there is a prolonged unlocked condition caused by a continued break in the light beam. This feature is desirable in applications requiring monitoring of security conditions or delayed egress.

Keyswitch is shipped set to order specifications, but innovative magnetic spring technology allows installers to reconfigure models in seconds.

Questions and Answers
Q: What is the DPDT for the 672/692?
A: DPDT = Double Pole Double Throw is double contacts push bar monitor switch. Also known as a Form CC.
Q: Does the 672 and 692 include a Door Loop?
A: The 692 includes a 18" door loop, the 672 does NOT.
Q: 692 Smart Bar trouble shooting
A: Basic troubleshooting can be reviewed here:

Verify power input lines have 12 or 24 volts DC.

  • Power up the 692, several self test beeps should occur and the internal relay will cycle then it will become silent
  • In normal operation breaking the 692 optical beam will trip the internal contacts of a form c relay.
  • Check the relays to verify the relay contacts have transitioned. The relays have no direct effect on the horn sounding.
  • If a continuous tone is heard it indicates one of the two optical beams could be been block for more than 15 seconds. If this occurs check for visible obstruction of the beams. If none are found then one of the optical boards likely has failed.
  • Beeps twice intermittently: the optics are exposed to excessive light.
