A 1" diameter mounting hole is required for the Locknetics 679-05 HM Concealed SPDT Magnetic Switch as seen in the template as seen here:

Q: What is the standard location on the frame for install?
A:
I am not aware of a hard and fast requirement of where to locate it but generally I see them installed in the rabbit of the frame near the top of the opening on the latching side 4” - 6” down from header. I suggest considering the location of the door position switch so as to best accommodate existing wiring requirements and and any other security concerns that you may have.
