Q: 12v wiring

A: What is the question please?

Q: I have a Locknetics 310 maglock that I’m looking for instructions as well as the size wire needed to install correctly as I am troubleshooting an existing system installed by others. It was hooked up through a Mircom panel that runs 12v but the power for the maglock was pulled out of a power supply for a camera system at 24vac. I’m pretty sure the 22awg wire is too small to around at least 100’ to 150’ away hook up correctly when I tie back into the panel with 12v.

Based on the Installation Instructions you will want to confirm you are getting the proper 12vdc and .68 amp at the installation. this is crucial as voltage drop given distance and wire gauge is a problem.

You would want to supply 16 ga wires.

Q: Hello, We have a locknetics for repair, can we use 24 VAC , it was broken from the door, where We can find the wiring for the model 268, thanks for your answer.

A: The only way you can use ac voltage with this magnetic lock is to wire a rectifier in series and the wiring diagram that you have requested can be seen here:
