Q: 8310-865 receiver and sequence.
A: RF sequential operation requires the use of of a minimum of 2 receivers (8310-865). Depending on the desired operation required (if using access control), it may require up to 4 receivers (8310-865).

Programing Steps:

  • Program exterior actuator for "NO DELAY" on receiver for exterior door, and for "DELAY" on receiver for interior door.
  • Program interior actuator for "NO DELAY" on receiver for interior door, and for "DELAY" on receiver for exterior door.
  • Program exterior vestibule actuator for "NO DELAY" on receiver for exterior door only.
  • Program interior vestibule actuator for "NO DELAY" on receiver for interior door only.

    Operation:

  • Exterior actuator opens exterior door, then sequences interior door.
  • Interior actuator opens interior door, then sequences exterior door.
  • Exterior vestibule actuator opens exterior door only.
  • Interior vestibule actuator opens interior door only.
  • Q: What are the power requirements for the 8310-865 (433 MHz) receiver?
A: The input voltage for the 8310-865 (433 MHz) receiver is 12-24 VAC/VDC +/-10%, the current draw is 250mA (0.25A).
Q: How many actuators can you have programmed on an 8310-865 receiver?
A: The 8310-865 RF receiver can have up to 100 transmitters programmed to it.
Q: Where do the wires of the 8310-865 receiver connect on the Falcon 8200 series operator?
A: The 8310-865 RF receiver connection to the Falcon 8200 operator are:

  • RED and BLACK power wires on the receiver connect to the 12V AC terminals on the Falcon operator.
  • The WHITE wire from the COM terminal on the receiver connects the the MAIN ACT COM terminal on the Falcon operator.
  • The GREEN wire from the NO terminal on the receiver connects the the MAIN ACT terminal on the Falcon operator.

See Point to Point wiring diagram here:

  • Q: How do you program the 8310-865 RF receiver?
A: To program the 8310-865 receiver:

  • Set the dip switches 1 to the "OFF" (pulse) position.
  • Set the dip switches 2 to the "OFF" (0.5s) position.
  • Momentarily press the " No Delay" or "Delay" button (depending on the required operation). The red LED light will come on solid for about 10 seconds.
  • While the red LED is on, press actuator button (transmitter button) 2 to 3 times until blue light comes on.
  • Actuator button (transmitter button) is now programmed to the receiver.
  • Repeat steps 1-4 for each actuator button to be programmed.*(see note)

To "Reset" or "Clear Program" of the 8310-865 receiver:

  • Press and hold both the "No delay" and "Delay" buttons until the blue light comes on. This can take up to 10 seconds.
  • Q: What is a 7910-967?
A: The 7910-967 is a part number for a discontinued RF actuator. It was replaced by the 8310-3856WS RF actuator as seen here:

The new 8310-3856WS requires the use of an 8310-865 RF receiver.

Q: Will a new RF "programmable" transmitter work with an older RF receiver that has "dip switches"?
A: The newer "programmable" RF transmitters/receivers will not work with the older "dip switch" transmitters/receivers. The frequency and coding are different.
Q: What components are needed to convert a hard wired actuator button to a wireless actuator button?
A: To convert a hard wired actuator button to a wireless actuator button you will need the following components:

    An RF transmitter.

  • The 8310-844 transmitter for the (4-1/2" or 6" round, and the 4-3/4 square) wall mounted switches (one for each actuator button).
  • The 8310-844J transmitter for the 1-1/2"x 4-3/4 (rectangle) jamb switches (one for each actuator button).

    A plastic wall box.

  • 4-1/2" round surface mount box, 8310-868S.
  • 4-1/2" flush mount box, 8310-868F.
  • 4-3/4" square surface mount box, 8310-867S.
  • 4-3/4" square flush mount box, 8310-867F.
  • 6" round surface mount box, 8310-869S.
  • 6" square flush mount box, 8310-869F.
  • 1-1/2"x 4-3/4" rectangle jamb surface mount box, 8310-819S.
  • 1-1/2"x 4-3/4" rectangle jamb flush mount box, 8310-819F.

    A weather ring.

  • 4-1/2" round, 8310-800.
  • 4-3/4 square, 8310-801.
  • 6" round, 8310-802.
  • An 8310-865 receiver (one or more) for each power operator depending on the functional operation required.
  • Q: Why would an 8310-865 RF Receiver for power operator have a flashing "RED" light?
A: When the "RED" LED on the 8310-865 RF Receiver is blinking, it is receiving an RF signal (interference) from a non programmed device. When receiving this type of signal, it will not program correctly. The signal could be coming from a transmitter switch that is stuck on, or is wired N.C. (normally closed) when is needs to be wired N.O. (normally open) causing it to send a constant signal to the receiver. The signal may also be interference from another RF source near the receiver (walkie talkies, internet antenna, computer wiring, etc.).
