Engraved blue filled handicap symbol conforms to most accessibility codes
Designed to mount in a frame cutout (template provided) projecting approximately 1/2” (12 mm) from the frame or surface mount box

Questions and Answers

Q: What is the average battery life on wireless actuators?

A: On average, the battery life on the wireless actuators will be 9 months to 1 year for most installations. Extreme (cold) conditions may reduce battery life.

Q: Can hardwire actuators and wireless actuators be used together on an operator?

A: Hardwired and RF actuators can be used together on the same operator. The hardwired switch and the RF receiver both provide a N.O. contact to the operator.

Q: What is the ANSI recommendation for the distance between the actuator and the door opening?

A: Always check the most current revision of the ANSI A156.19 standard for recommendation or requirement of the location of a Knowing Act switch.

2019 ANSI A156.19 states the requirement of the Knowing Act Switch Location as follows:

When a knowing act switch is used: it shall be installed in a location within view of the door; have an installation height of a minimum of 34 in. and a maximum of 48 in., or as specified by the local building codes; shall remain accessible from the swing side when the door is opened; and shall not be located in a position where the user would be in the path of the moving door. If located seven feet or more from the center of the door, there shall be an additional time delay of two seconds for each additional foot.
