Q: I would like to verify with you that there will not be any conflict between the concealed closer track mortised into our 3ft wide wood door and the center pivot. The closer is 5-5/16” from the pivot point. The door frames shall start fabrication on Monday so your immediate response would be greatly appreciated.

Q: Is the 2030 spring adjustable?
A: All the 2030 series closer have a fixed spring sizes. Example -- a 2031 has a size 1 spring, a 2302 has a size 2 spring, 2033/2034/2035 etc. All the 2030 series closer are shipped at the weakest spring setting for the size order. There is a spring strength adjustment on the plate that can increase the spring strength about 35%, but not from closer size to another. The maximum spring turns on the power setting of a 2030 closer is 36 turns.
Q: How do you identify what size a 2030 closer is?
A: The Date Code and Closer Size are stamped in the backside of the closer body.
Closer Size:

If the number is "1", the closer is a 2031 or 5031.
- If the number is "3", the closer is a 2033 or 5033, etc.
Q: What is the maximum door weight recommended for LCN closers?
A: The maximum recommended door weight for LCN closers is 225 lbs.
Q: What special template (ST) is used with a 2030 closer and GJ over head stop?
A: Special template ST-2211 is used to mount a 2030 series closer with a GJ 70,79,81,90, and 450 series overhead stops. This ST works with any GJ "surface" mounted stop.
The 2030 closer cannot be used with the GJ 100 & 410 series.
Q: What is a 1038G closer?
A: The 1038G is not a closer number, but a cylinder casting number on all the 2030 series closers or a 5030 series closers.

A: The LCN 2031 can be mounted with with standard butt hinges, center pivots, and offset pivots can the installation instructions included with the unit includes templates for all of those applications.
