Q: Good Afternoon, Please send me a Price and lead time for this Commercial Door Closer, I bought this from you in the past, in case you don’t have this anymore please send me a direct replacement With specifications., LCN 1371 DOOR CLOSER DARK BRONZE Thanks. Julio C.
A: Indeed yes you have purchased this discontinued door closer from us in the past but regret to inform there currently no inventory on hand and there is no direct replacement.
However I do have good news in that We feature two programs for handling your door closer repair and replacement needs. Please click the link here to the item I refer to:
Choosing our Repair Service is where you complete checkout through the website or over the telephone. We will email you the address to where your door closer body is to be sent to. Be sure to retain the tracking number of your shipment and ship the item(s) as Signature Required. We will receive the package, complete the repair and rebuild process and ship back the same model door closer. The door closer we send is usually not the exact unit you will ship to us. If you want us to return your exact unit, simply indicate this in the comment field. This usually adds 1-week to the shipping lead time.
Choosing our Exchange Service option will give you the opportunity to first buy the rebuilt item which will be shipped to you in 2 to 3 days. Once the original door closer is replaced, you can send the door closer (sometimes referred to as a "core") unit back where we offer a 40% core refund. The advantage of this program is that you do not have to completely take a door out of service while you wait for the repair work to be done. Once the order is placed for the Exchange, we ship this rebuilt door closer from our stock within 2 - 3 days. Once you receive the unit, you perform the swap and ship back the original door closer. Be sure to retain the tracking number of your shipment and ship the item(s) as Signature Required. Original door closer bodies, "cores", are to be sent back within 30 - days to qualify for the partial core refund.

Q: Hello, All of the doors in our building are equipped with LCN Quest 1371 door closers. A few of them close too fast. I am having trouble finding documentation explaining what the 3 adjusters are for. Would you be able to tell me what each one adjusts? Please see me photos as posted here:

Thanks.
A: Indeed yes I can help. but first your photos show 4 - points of control.
In step 5 of the Template / Installation Instructions for the LCN 1371 as seen here:

Shos the latch and sweep speed valves.
Clockwise turing will increase effective valve control but do be cautious to not turn these too far counterclockwise as to allow the valve set screw to come out. This will cause a permanent failure of the door closer and a mess of oil on your shirt, the door and the floor).
If your attempts to regain proper door control prove unsuccessful, we do sell rebuilt LCN 1371 series door closer as seen here:

Q: Hello, I recently purchased some new old stock, which happens to be one of your discontinued 1371 door closers. It seems that the package is missing the bracket with allows for the closer to be mounted to the door / frame. I'm hoping to be able to find a replacement. I do not know if you would happen to have this piece, or perhaps from a similar model (i.e. 1370) perhaps? Any help you can provide me with would be wonderful. Thank you, Ryan J Átha
A: How many of these LCN 1371 door closers do you have?
Q: Thanks for getting back to me. I just have the one closer. Thanks, Ryan
Q: Yes, that is the piece that I need?
A: The mounting plate is required for a complete installation and I very likely have none available. What will you do with the 1371 door closer should you not be able to source this long discontinued item?
Q: Well, damn... Not sure, unfortunately it'll most likely go to waste.
A: Is the unit new or used?
Q: What closers replaces the 1370 / 1371?
A: The 1370 series closer was discontinued on Oct. 4th, 2008.
Occasionally we have inventory on hand and when we do we make active the listing within our website meeting there will be a sell price and you'll be able to purchase the item through the checkout process up to the quantities that we have in the finishes that are in stock.
There is no drop in replacement closer that will match the hole pattern of the 1370 series closer. The 1261 with optional 1260-18QF plate would be the closest match that we could offer/suggest. The mounting hole pattern on a 1260-18QF plate matches the existing holes from the 1370 closer. Then the 1261 closer would mount to the 1260-18QF plate. The mounting template of the 1260 does not match that of the 1370, but is close enough for the 1260 to work. Slight adjustments to the mounting location of the arm maybe required.
-
The 1260 closer hole pattern is 9-1/16" x 3/4", which is NOT the same hole pattern as the 1370 closer.
-
The 1260-18QF plate does have the same hole pattern as the 1370 closer.
-
We no longer carry any 1370 series parts but our current 1260 and 1460 arm will fit on the 1370. So you could use either arm as a replacement. These are the only replacement parts we can offer.
-
LCN cannot repair a 1371 closer so if you have a nonfunctional unit you will need to replace with another closer.
-
Absupply.net can repair your LCN 1371 closer and see the link as follows for that option to do so:

Q: What is the difference of the gl10 and gl11. These numbers are also stamped on the closer.
A: It's simply a reference to the casting that was done at the time the bodies were manufactured and have absolutely no fundamental difference in the closer whatsoever.
Q: What is a LCN 1040 or 1050 closer?
A: The 1040 and 1050 are obsolete closers made in the 50's, 60's, and 70's. The 1260 or 1460 will work as replacements, but they are not direct replacement.
Q: Do you have a replacement arm for an LCN door closer model 1371
A: We may - at times we do have new replacement parts such as the caps or the bolts or the arms or the body only or the mounting plate - it is definitely worth a call into our facility to check if we currently have anything available. We can be reached at our contact information as seen here:
