of the LCN door closer on one of the doors of our church. This door is used strictly for emergency exit. You may recall that kids routinely play in the vicinity of this door, and there have been times when the door becomes slightly ajar, but not enough to trip the alarm. When this happens, there is opportunity for the door to open later, tripping the alarm (under the right conditions). My question was: can the door closer be adjusted such that it will re-latch the door, even if the door is only ajar 1/4" or so? Thank you in advance for your willingness to help. Best regards, Jim

A: Jim - we did speak on the telephone about the problem of your door not fully closing and I did suggest possibly changing the way the door closer arm is currently sucked so as to increase the preload feature on the closer. This may or may not solve the problem of latching the door even if it's only left a jar by less than an inch.
