Q: I'm wondering if this set screw would work for other similar handles in the house, but without the same keyed lock. In other words, do the screws vary depending on if it's a keyed lock vs knob lock vs no lock, if style and brand otherwise the same? Please let me know options for ordering.
A: This set screw would work only if the other locks that you have are identical to the lock that you showed in your prior image as the set screws do vary from item to item - please reply to this email with photographs of your other locks so that I can review which set screw that you will need.
Q: This is the other kind in the house (master bedroom and bathrooms), as well as those without any locks at all:

Let me know if a phone call might help.
A: The privacy swt that you shown in the above images do not take a set screw whatsoever.
Q: Hello, I spoke with Richard on Friday PM and he recommended I call Kwikset to find out the specs of this set screw. Kwikset couldn't tell me anything about it for some reason (they said with a photo they could send me the manual but that wouldn't have the specs either). The only thing they would tell me is that it needed 3/32 Allen wrench (we had been using 2.5 metric to do the screw on the other side). Everyone kept saying I would need to bring both parts of the lock (i.e. remove it from my door) to go to hardware store to get a new set screw and hope they had one that fits. I thought could do with just the handle? Anyway, all this is to ask if we can make arrangements to order and mail me a few of those screws so I have them on hand? We are making do with the nail in the door for now, so no big rush. I will also get the thread lock in the meantime. Hopefully the cost to mail tiny screws won't rival the cost of buying a whole new lock. ?? Was wondering if the thread lock can be applied to set screws that are still stuck in the door? The other side handle keeps coming off, but the screw remains inside the lock part (just screw it back into the handle).
A: I've sent a quote to your email address for the set screws for your Kwikset SmartKey lock.

A: The set screw needs to be removed so that you can apply the thread lock directly to the threads and inside of the tapped hole before you reinsert the set screw.
