Q: What is the 'U' shaped shim/filler used for?
A:
The Keedex K-BXES1 Electric Strike Gate Box is compatible not only with the Trine 005 but also the Rofu 1106 and the EFF 11BS. The ‘U’ shaped aluminum hat shaped shim is indeed used only with the Rofu 1106 and the EFF 11BS and when installing the Trine 005 you will not utilize that piece whatsoever. The two strikes that it is used with simply have a thinner portion of where the electrified componentry resides and in order to fill that unused space, which does not affect the functionality of the strike whatsoever, the manufacturer simply provides that ‘U’ shaped filler.
