Stainless Steel Frame

Stainless steel is one of the most durable materials used in architecture, building, and construction.
Karpen Steel can provide stainless steel frames per the following specifications.	Appropriate applications for Karpen Steel Stainless Steel Frames:
16 Gage only	Industrial and institutional type applications only. Examples of appropriate uses are:
Type 304 #3 Finish (Satin Finish)	Food processing plants
UL Label Available	Veterinarian offices
3 or 4-sided frames with mullions	Cafeterias
Cut-off stops available.	Restaurants in non-public areas (such as kitchens)
There are four major groups of stainless steel. Type 304 is the basic alloy and commonly used in frame manufacturing.	The stainless steel frames will be quoted for industrial applications only. This is not architectural grade stainless, therefore it would not be good for a front door for a restaurant. Please contact us directly if you have any questions regarding application and suitability. We will need to know the type of application when the order is placed and reserve the right not to honor the quote if we deem that the material is not suitable for the intended use.
In addition, there are numerous surface finishes for stainless steel. The most common for frames is either Number 3 or Number 4 finish. Number 3 is a polished finished obtained with approximately a 100 mesh abrasive. This is considered to be a general purpose finish. The common industry term for this finish is "Satin". By contrast, a Number 8 finish is commonly termed a "mirror" or "polished" finish.
