Q: In a bit of a situation! Our site has Jackson 1085 with the 30-1115 dogging pins on each side of the push bar.

It looks like one is broken, all i see is the spring on the outside and a small head inside of that.

The main end of dogging pin with the slot is not there. I have another door where I can take the same pin out but how do I remove it and install it on our broken door.

Trying to avoid an $85 service charge plus parts/labor. Thanks so much

A: You need to remove the device from the door to get to the backside of the case so as to remove part 72 as seen here:

Q: Hello, I am interested in the Jackson 1085 dogging pin assembly. I saw a video of Rich (owner?) explaining the product on youtube. My question is, how to remove the old damaged dogging pin to install the replacement? Is the set screw accessible once the arm is removed? Also, are the regular and thumb turn dogging pins interchangeable. I am referring to Jackson 30-1115 and Jackson 30-1117-628 part numbers. Thank you. Milen M.

A: The procedure to replace the dogging pit assembly from the Jackson 1085 device is simply accomplished by removing the arm assembly from the door by removing the three set screws that will hold it to the face of the door and then you will be able to inspect the location of the set screw that holds the dogging assembly in the body assembly itself and simply loosen that and then replace the original contents with the new dogging pin assembly.
